Kevin is the president of Learn it Media, the recognized industry leader in training, awareness, and communication, delivering custom publishing solutions for company-specific and industry-wide campaigns, educational courseware, print and digital media products, and custom mobile applications that help organizations communicate with their distributed workforce. Kevin is the former Chief Operating Officer of LPM Media Group and LP Magazine delivering industry and custom publishing of loss prevention news, education and training in the US and EU.
With Kevins combined authoring skills, subject matter expertise, and background in learning design, he has authored more than 150+ online eLearning courses and industry certifications for a wide variety of national retailers and global organizations. Kevin is the former CEO and founder of RuMe Interactive, Enabl-u Technologies, and is the former president of Verisk Crime Analytics, having designed multiple, award-winning, data management and data sharing applications for both retail and financial clients.
Kevin’s other expertise spans from advanced data visualization and analytics, to voice biometrics and facial recognition, with projects and companies in North America and Europe as the CIO (Chief Idea Officer) for The Ministry of Ideas, and as CEO of both IAB-Innovative Analytics & Biometrics and Mobile Voice Innovations. Holding former retail executive positions with Jordan Marsh, Macys, Bloomingdales, and with Tiffany & Co., driving global investigation efforts, Kevin started out his career with the FBI in Washington, DC. Kevin is the co-founder of the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF), co-creating the LPF in 2006 and today still drives new content development for the certifications LPQ and LPC, and for the new LPF-Certified certificate courses, while also supporting international expansion.
Kevin is a frequent speaker, panelist, and moderator at live events, on webinars, and on podcasts, for a variety of retail, financial, and government organizations.
Kevin O’Brien serves as the Executive Vice President of Business Development for SEMM Holdings, overseeing the comprehensive business development initiatives for The Integritus Group, Pharma Compliance Group, Learn it Media, and C1 Compliance. He is recognized as a leader in retail solutions, consistently achieving exemplary results across various retail sectors.
With over 35 years of experience in loss prevention, safety, risk management, and operations, Kevin has held significant executive leadership positions at prominent companies such as The Home Depot, Bradlees Department Stores, Ames Department Stores, and Lord & Taylor.
His vast expertise in program development, shrink reduction, food cost management, investigations, audits and compliance, as well as safety and security, enables him to align clients’ objectives with tailored programs and advanced technology solutions.
With over 35 years of experience, May is a seasoned veteran of the retail loss prevention and asset protection profession. Prior to founding LP Innovations in 1998, May was the First Senior Vice President, Director of Loss Prevention and Auditing with J. Baker Inc., a national retailer with over 2,000 stores and over 1 billion in annual sales. During his tenure, May oversaw all corporate facilities, distribution centers and retail stores. In 1998 he founded and was the CEO of LP Innovations providing compliance auditing programs, employee fraud investigations, exception-based reporting analytics and training and education programs for ALL retail verticals. During his tenure at LPI he added Pharmaceutical Compliance Services (PCG) for all DEA Registrants including distributors, retail pharmacies including online providers. May also acquired Securex, a systems integrator focused on installation of alarm intrusion and detection systems, remote access CCTV systems, access control, fire-life safety applications and GPS asset tracking.
Specialties: May is a Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI) in Advanced Interview and Interrogation Techniques from WZ Associates. May is an Advisory Board member for CFI and is currently a Community VP for ASIS and past Chair and Vice Chair Retail Asset Protection Community. In his capacity as a CVP he oversees the Security Architecture and Engineering Steering Committee, the Intellectual Protection Steering Committee and the Fire and Life Safety Steering Committee. He has over 30 years expertise in the design, installation and maintenance of integrated security applications including today’s technology with emerging AI capabilities. . May has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. He also completed certificate programs for Paralegal and Computer Crime Forensics at Northeastern University in Boston MA.
Matt Murphy retired from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) in the New England Field Division after a twenty six year career. A regulatory subject matter expert with executive leadership experience Matt served as the Chief of Pharmaceutical Investigations for the DEA and was instrumental in developing and implementing DEA’s strategy to dismantle drug trafficking organizations illicitly distributing pharmaceutical controlled substances.
Upon retirement from the DEA Matt founded the Pharma Compliance Group (PCG), providing pharmaceutical compliance expertise to assist clients comply with the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), and the regulations contained in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), that pertain to pharmaceutical drug manufacturers, wholesale drug distributors, and pharmacy companies. Matt leads the company’s regulatory consulting operations to include on-site and off-site (audit) review services.
From 2017 until 2021 Matt served as the Chief Compliance Officer for Khiron Life Sciences, the first licensed vertically integrated medical cannabis company in the country of Colombia. Serving as Chief Compliance Officer, Matt established Khiron’s seed to sale compliance program implementing similar CSA/CFR mandates that DEA utilizes to regulate the US pharmaceutical industry.
Matt will provide guidance and expertise on regulatory matters pertaining to pharmaceutical controlled substance compliance and cannabis compliance for the Pharma Compliance Group and C1 Compliance Group.
Mark Simson, Chief Financial Officer and Board Member for SEMM Holdings. He is responsible for the overall financial management of the business along with providing operational oversight.
Mark Simson is a seasoned entrepreneurial executive that brings collaboration, teamwork and overall positive energy to the Company. Mark Simson has an extensive 20 year background in the security industry working across different offerings and verticals. During his various tenures, Mark has been involved with over 25 acquisitions both from the buy and sell side. Mark has also been involved in various capital raises including equity, senior and mezzanine debt. Mark ha extensive experience working with multiple private equity firms and senior lenders both in and out of the security vertical. Mark Simson also has experience working in the education space, quick-service, hospitality, alarm monitoring, video auditing and interactive video monitoring sectors of the security industry.
Mark Simson has previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Intralogic Solutions, DTiQ, Worldwide Security and iVerify. Prior to joining the security space, Mark worked at Triax Capital handling capital raises, financial restructuring and acquisitions. Mark Simson is a CPA who began his career at PwC.
With over 20 years in multiple market sectors with experience managing all activities from origin to delivery through a robust supply chain, Ezri Silver has served as President at US Polo Assn. North America (“USPA”) along with his tenure as EVP of Operations at the conglomerate parent company of USPA – Jordache Enterprises, Inc. (“Jordache”). In his capacity at Jordache, Ezri was involved in the multiple business sectors and markets in which the company participates worldwide.
As a C-level executive, Ezri facilitated business operating actives in multiple consumer goods & service offerings – including Omnichannel Retail (Brick & Mortar, eCommerce, & Wholesale), Aviation, Hospitality, Maritime, and Commercial Real Estate.
A clear communicator and encouraging collaborator fostering teamwork along with transparency, Ezri has managed a diverse set and size of projects and portfolio asset-based initiatives. Cumulatively, Mr. Silver has cooperatively managed multi-billion-dollar portfolios of a diverse set of income-generating assets, generating in excess of a several hundred million to billions in revenue year over year – with robust bottom-line EBIT “Net Profitability.”
With a deep background in retail from small-form local grocery/convenience stores, to physical stores, to eCommerce, Ezri has expanded his participation in private equity to influencer to entrepreneur facilitation of varying consumer products as well as consumer services complimenting the dynamic omni-channel retail environment – among other diverse opportunities.
As a senior advisor for SEMM, Ezri is also an active part of the Integritus Group team specializing in Regulatory Asset Protection, Compliance Services, and Loss Prevention Solutions, helping businesses navigate complex challenges with transparency and collaboration.

Mike Miller is the Vice President of Operations at the Integritus Group, where he leads initiatives on brand standards, loss prevention, safety, and compliance across all client sectors.
With 27 years of industry experience, Mike has held leadership roles with national and international brands like IntelliShop, HS Brands Global, Kohl’s, Target, Micro Electronics, and Tedeschi Food Shops.
Over the last 17 years, Mike has been instrumental in developing and managing comprehensive programs in loss prevention, compliance, and safety for brands such as Forever 21, PacSun, Eddie Bauer, PUMA, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jiffy Lube International, 7-Eleven, Speedway, Café Rio, Smokey Bones, Dunkin’ Brands, Friendly’s Ice Cream, Quiznos, Circle K, and many more.

Justin Kemp, LPQ, serves as the Vice President of Operations for Learn it Media, spearheading efforts to optimize business processes, improve operational efficiency, and ensure seamless execution across all levels of the organization. With over 15 years in senior roles within Learn it Media, serving previously as the Director of Operations then as Vice President of Operations for LPM Media Group, Justin has helped support the innovation of Learn it Media’s digital offerings, while streamlining workflows to align with the company’s goals and overall business strategy. In his current role, Justin is also responsible for overseeing vendor relations, client relations, and all digital media development. Justin played a critical role in evolving the digital capabilities of the organization, expanding into new areas of interactive communications. Originally self-taught in digital and animation development, Justin has become an expert in the field, sourcing outstanding talent and driving the design team as he oversees all of our digital media projects to ensure quality and efficiency.
Justin brings over 20 years of experience working as a leader in the retail sector, both in retail operations and as a solution provider for retailers. In his former roles, he has also invested many years assisting with the operations for LP Magazine and with the Loss Prevention Foundation, helping both to align operational and financial goals, as well as overseeing the planning, development, and execution of their annual meetings.
Justin graduated from East Carolina University in North Carolina with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing. He also holds an LPQ (Loss Prevention Qualified) certificate from the Loss Prevention Foundation and is currently working on his Lean Six Sigma Certification.
Karen Smith serves as the Vice President of Creative Services for Learn it Media developing training, awareness, and communication programs for a wide array of clients. With over 21 years combined experience, through the evolution of Contact, Inc., LPM Media Group and now Learn it Media, she has helped our clients create successful, branded programs that drive employee engagement, positive performance, and impact the bottom line.
With over 35 years invested in the loss prevention industry as a practitioner in both field and corporate roles, with much of her time focusing on training, Karen has established herself as an industry expert in creating dynamic connected campaigns that are relevant and relatable, for customer service, loss prevention, safety, risk, and supply chain. Karen’s prior experience includes positions with Woodward & Lothrop, Lord & Taylor, The Sports Authority, and 12 years at Bloomingdale’s, where she was the corporate trainer for the loss prevention organization.
Karen holds a B.S. in Consumer Economics from the University of Maryland and lives in the Washington, DC area.
